call for abstracts
You are invited to submit a proposal for instructional workshops, plenary sessions, parallel sessions, papers, case studies and posters for the 8th Nordic Seating Symposium, 5 – 6 May 2022, with Pre-Symposium Workshops on 4 May 2022.
The Nordic Seating Symposium is considered one of the leading meetings in Scandinavia, attracting dedicated clinicians, researchers, manufacturers, and others who work in the area of Seating and Assistive Technology.
The main objective of the Nordic Seating symposium is to bring together professionals, researchers, manufacturers, suppliers and users of Seating & Assistive Technology to learn from each other.
There will be no conference book, but an app will be provided.
Conference language is English.
In connection with the event there will be an Assistive Technology exhibition.
The abstract should be within the following themes:
- Manual and Powered mobility
- New Technology for the Elderly
- Pressure ulcer prevention
- New Assistive
- Neck and head
- Mobility and driving
- Subjects that are related to seating, such as dysphagia, pelvic floor, scoliosis, etc.
Abstracts format for plenary and parallel sessions and for posters.
The abstract may be based on research, clinical practice or personal experiences. We welcome abstracts from different professionals, researchers and users.
The format for the symposium includes pre-symposium, plenary sessions, parallel sessions, case studies, paper and poster sessions.
The abstract should be maximum of 300 words in English.
Please rate whom the lecture suites best, beginner-intermediate or intermediate-advanced.
Pre-symposium workshops will be in-depth, interactive, and hands-on sessions either half a day (3-hr) or a full day (6-hr) in length.
The lectures in Plenum is about 45-60 minutes and the lecture could be relevant to the other symposium’s topics.
Instructional sessions of 20- 45 minutes in length, with 3 or 4 instructional sessions running simultaneously. These sessions provide a structured learning experience while encouraging audience participation and exchange of knowledge.
Paper session max 10 minutes each with a 5 minutes questioning allowance.
Posters will be set up for viewing throughout the 2 days of the main symposium, providing opportunities for visual presentations and discussions.

Targeting professionals as:
Physical therapist, Occupational therapist, Doctors, Orthotists and other Health professionals.
Rating of whom the lecture suites best – beginner-intermediate, intermediate-advanced. The size of the poster is maximum 120 cm high and 90 cm wide and the smallest text should be 18 point or larger (in e.g. Calibri) to be readable from a distance of 1 – 2 meter.
Proposals must be received no later than the first of August 2021
The Nordic seating symposium is arranged in cooperation between The Icelandic Health Insurance, National Board of Health and Welfare Sweden, The Norwegian Labour and Welfare Service and The National Board of Social Services in Denmark.
